CSA Group has the capability to test all possible combinations (water drip, spray, jet, dust and solid bodies), including the most severe IP68 certification. An IP68 tested product is dust-protected and waterproof (tested in a water depth of more than 1 meter and for longer than 30 minutes). Our dust chamber has a size of 800 mm x 800 mm x 800 mm and the test specimens for immersion tests can be up to 300 mm long.
CSA Group provides testing services from IP1x to IP6x (Protection against objects) and IPx1 to IPx9 (Protection against liquids). The first digit of these IP codes indicates the ingress protection against solid bodies and the second digit indicates protection of the equipment inside the enclosure against ingress of water. We can also test against OEM requirements.
With our technologically advanced IP chambers, we can perform ingress protection testing of all kinds to evaluate the resistance of enclosed products to the intrusion of particles such as sand or dust and liquids. Depending on your needs, various chambers are available, including dust chambers with Talcum or Arizona dust as well as spray and splash water chambers. Following the test, the product receives an IP Code, based on IEC 60529 and ISO 20653, which classifies the resistance.
