Navigating Safety Standards for EV Batteries and Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment

May 26, 2022 2 pm (EST) 1 hour

The reduction in cost of lithium-ion batteries due to increased use in road vehicles and energy storage systems has opened the use of lithium-ion batteries in other motive power markets such as material handling, AGVs, and other traction power applications. The UL 2580 standard (the Standard for Safety on Batteries for Use in Electric Vehicles) is becoming a common requirement for these applications. It’s important to understand the requirements within this standard.

Join us on May 26th, 2 p.m. (EST) to learn more about:

  • Regulatory landscape, construction, design, and testing requirements for EV batteries covered under the scope of UL 2580
  • Key requirements, tests, and considerations of UL 2580, including the safety of lithium cells, functional safety of the battery system, and single cell failure design tolerance
  • Overview of applicable standards for Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment
  • Regulatory landscape for DC fast charging stations
