About the Panelists 

Amanda Jones, Science Advisor, Medical Devices Directorate, Health Canada 

Amanda has been working for Health Canada for over 17 years, primarily as a medical device evaluator. Amanda has evaluated a wide spectrum of medical devices (Class I-IV, pre- and post-market) in addition to experience managing the Investigational Testing and Special Access Program Division files for over a year and a half. Most recently, she joined the Office of the Science Advisor within MDD, where she manages PPE evaluations of respirators, medical masks, and reprocessing devices, as well as other non-COVID-19 related Class I and II medical devices.


Evangeline Cometa, Technical Oversight Manager, CSA Group  

Evangeline has held many positions since joining CSA Group 20 years ago. She is currently a member of the Technical Integrity team as a Technical Oversight Manager, leading a diverse group of subject matter experts in various disciplines including Occupational Health and Safety, Mechanical, Plumbing and Construction. She is part of the team that established the CSA certification program for PPE with an accredited, special-purpose lab dedicated to testing and certification of medical grade PPE.


Jeffrey Wang, CEO & President, Eternity Medical Equipment Manufactural Inc  

Jeffrey is a graduate of Simon Fraser University in British Columbia. He started his career as a software engineer in a Vancouver based IT company in 2000.In May of 2020 Jeffrey and his business partner started the Surrey, BC company, Eternity Medical Equipment. The company manufactures Made in Canada 95PFE respirators. Eternity Medical Equipment recently received CSA certification and Health Canada approval for its 95PFE- L2 respirators.


Ron Meyers, Health and Safety Project Manager, CSA Group Standards 

Ron is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional with over 28 years of experience in Occupational / Public Health & Safety, currently working within the Worker and Public Safety Standards group at CSA Group. For more than 22 years, Ron has managed a range of multi-stakeholder Technical Committees in developing National Occupational / Public Health & Safety Standards. Ron’s current responsibility includes the development of National Standards in areas of emergency management, first responder safety, protective equipment and systems, transportation of dangerous goods and search & rescue. Currently, Ron is working with stakeholders in the development of a new national standard for the Performance of Filtering Respirators.
